The 12 and under (12U) tournament uses green balls, while the 16 and under (16U) tournament uses yellow balls. Players will use these balls the remainder of the tournament and will get to keep them. Scorekeepers will also be provided, but must be returned.

Players reach out to their opponent to complete their scheduled match for the week at an agreed upon location. Matches are to be played in Santa Clarita, CA.

  3. Tennis scoring and details

First player to 10 games wins, regular tennis scoring (with ads).

    • You need to win 4 points to win a game. The point score goes: 0 (or 'love'), 15 (1st point), 30 (2nd point), 40 (3rd point), game (4th point). However, if the score is tied 40-40 (also called 'deuce'), a player must win the next 2 points to win the game. If the server wins the 1st point, it is Ad-in, and he needs one more to win the game; if the opponent wins the first point, it is Ad-out, and he needs one more to win the game. When a player fails to win two points in a row, it goes back to Deuce.

    • If games are tied 9–9, a player must win by 2 games (e.g. 11–9; 13–11, etc.).

    • Players will alternate serving after each game and get 2 serves per point.

    • Players switch sides (taking short breaks and updating the scorekeeper) after the 1st game and every 2 games afterwards (e.g. 1-0, 2-1, 4-1, etc.).

  4. Winner reports score

Winner reports score by date shown on bracket and prepares for the next match the following week.
